Airbag Seat Emulator

The seat emulator is a sensor that mimics the occupancy of the passenger seat. It was designed for a specific purpose - to ensure that, in the event of an accident, the passenger airbag would function.

If the seat mat in your car is damaged, you will see a message on the dashboard in the form of a red airbag symbol.                                                  The emulator sends the signal to the airbag control unit in the same way the seat mat would when a passenger is in the seat.

Once the emulator is installed, the occupancy system will work as usual; the passenger airbag will function correctly in the event of an accident.

If the emulator is used, never install a child seat in this location, as the passenger airbag will be activated in the event of a collision.

The installation of this device is very simple:

  1. Disconnect the car battery (recommended).
  2. Push the seat forward and locate the connector.
  3. Disconnect the connector and connect the emulator. 
  4. Now, reconnect the battery.

    After installing the emulator, you will need to clear the error on the dashboard. This can be done using a diagnostic machine, a service provided by virtually all car repair shops.
